"I found this restaurant on Tripadvisor expecting a great eclectic meal. We arrived to find the kitchen led by a Mexican chef and crew that riff on Mexican delicacies on Monday nights. Lucky me. Not since living in Mexico years ago have I had such exquisitely prepared dishes. A Mezcal Negroni for starters was life changing - they will all have Mezcal going fo..." Read more

"This was an exceptional restaurant. Every morsel of food was well prepared and delicious
My main course was eggplant lasagna and we shared coconut cream pie for dessert. Out of this world. My son loved his halibut and grilled octopus. They custom made me a fresh blueberry mojito for only $12!!"

"Excellent food, we were a group of 4 friends, had the meatballs and peach crostini for shared appetizers, three had the tagliatelle bolognese and one had steak, shared desserts, blueberry cheesecake and coconut cream pie. Amazing! Great service, good to book in advance. Take an Uber as neighborhood seems to be gentrifying and seemed a little isolated from th..." Read more

"If I could give the Isa Bistro 10 million stars I would. This place was incredible. Everything we had was so fresh and delicious. One of the things we look for is cleanliness and the staff being friendly and they did not disappoint. When we left there was not a table available in the house so go early and make a reservation. Can't wait to go back. Thank you..." Read more

"Amazing that they consistently are rated #1 in Portland with all the choices.
Great little spot so seating is somewhat limited and parking not the best BUT lunch was VG.
We split beet salad and pasta dish which was plenty—noticed other couples split meals too.
Do not leave without ordering chocolate pie!!!!"

"Isa is a quiet, discrete venue, with sensible service, and properly trained chefs producing high quality fare. There is limited parking available behind the restaurant. It's perfect for catching up with a good friend who lives overseas and celebrating his birthday, as happened on this occasion.
It's quite expensive but not ridiculous. "

"If you want fantastic food with good ambiance this is your place - Isa delivers. Came here with a crowd of New Englands finest. Try pairing the moscato with the crème brûlée to isa-perience food pleasure. Lauren K was the coolest p to plan this event. happy new years!!!"

"The food was quite good, although the Caesar salad could have used a touch of acid, and the salted cod fritters could have had the fish shine through a little more. Our service on the other hand, not so much. Our server was absent for most of our dining experience, although the hostess did her best to make up for it. We did get to hear the bartender speaking..." "My sister and I were on the hunt for some duck. Most restaurants that serve any duck dish don't seem to open until the evening. We tried calling around but nobody was around earlier in the day to answer phones. I resorted to facebook messaging a few places and alas, ISA (within 10 minutes) was the only restaurant to respond that seared duck would be the spec..." Read more

"We went to Isa on our last night in Portland. We almost canceled, but I'm so glad we didn't. Service was impeccable. The food was excellent. We had the burrata, the corn and lobster tostada to start. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. The corn was my favorite though. We also got the tagliatelle bolognese. You can tell they make their own pasta. I coul..." Read more

"Fantastic. Great cocktails that were actually reasonably priced. We started with the lobster crostini, and then had the pork chop and short rib. Everything was great."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner on Friday evening. We are always looking for a cozy place to dine that we can get to easily from Windham. The service was great. Had to wait for a bit for our table and hostess brought me a delicious gin cocktail. Octopus appetizer was fabulous. Halibut dish was delicious. The sauce is so flavorful. Make sure you use the yummy b..." Read more

"Top notch restaurant. Warm welcoming staff. Everything we ordered was delicious (appetizer, salad, pasta, dessert, wine). I’d say the theme is Italian with some Mexican sprinkles (chef is from Mexico). I’m born and raised in Mexico, live in Texas, have had a lot of tres leches cakes, the one one their menu is probably the best one I’ve had."

"Four of us ate at Isa's and were amazed that we had never eaten there before. The menu is short but finding a favorite for all of us was easy. The entrees were exceptional, the overall noise level was quiet, the wait staff was attentive and educated, and the general ambiance was sophisticated. This restaurant needs to let people know about it!"

"Lovely atmosphere. Smaller than it looks from the outside. Very warm inside in the fall. Food was good - pasta was good. Bread good. Delicious dessert (best we’ve had in Portland) Halibut was insanely fishy and nearly under cooked. The service was friendly and gracious. We’d definitely go here again but might try other dishes."

"Spectacular dinner. It was a chilly night and we stepped into a warm and welcoming restaurant. The dressing on my green salad (ginger tahina) was so yummy I could have eaten two or three salads. Just the right consistency- not overly tahina flavoed, gingery and a little salty. So so good! My husband had the squash soup and it was a bowl of warm silkiness th..." Read more

"This place is a gem. Amazing eggplant lasagna sliced so thin that the texture is like eating pasta. The halibut melted in your mouth and the sautéed broccolini was perfect and service on point!"

"Dinner at Isa Bistro is a delicious experience. The peach crostini and farm salad, were a great start to our evening. Their meatballs are classic. Both pasta dishes (Bolognese and Vodka) were served al dente. The Tres Leches cake capped a perfect evening. The service from the staff was outstanding!
They have kept a consistently high standard. "
