"This was my first time trying Mediterranean food but this place wasn't it. Food was very plain and had little to no taste. My favorite thing had to be the bread but that was about it. Salad was drenched in oil, zucchini and squash were overly salted. The only thing you could taste in the chicken was the char from the grill. Would give one star but customer s..." Read more

"Came here after the museum, based on the reviews was expecting a decent middle eastern/mediterranean meal. I got the gyro meat plate with hummus, spinach salad and potatoes and my girlfriend got the chicken shawarma sandwich with hummus. They have a variety of different hummus flavors, we tried 4 (spinach, spicy, onion and baba ganoush) and really didn't lik..." Read more

"This place is definitely overrated and the food was just okay. I wasn't blown away by the food and I don't know how people say this is the best Mediterranean place in Houston. I got the chicken kabob when I went and the chicken was dried out and was really chewy. The staff also had a hard time explaining to me what the side dishes were when I was asking them..." Read more

"I feel it's overrated and food was ok. Nothing was like too excellent. I didn't feel like I should visit again. Ambience is not good for friends hangout spots. Potato balls was good."

"Now I understand 2 stars is kind of harsh but with such a high amount of good reviews, it set my expectations very high. I'll start with the good. The sides we tried were hummus, rice, spicy corn, grilled veggies, and lime cilantro potatoes. Everything except the grilled veggies was pretty good. As for the pita bread you get 2 with your meal and one was good..." Read more

"I love middle eastern but this is meh. Mostly dry & lacking finesse. House of kabob is my favorite cheap middle eastern in Houston and it's a 3.5 on my scale. Houston does not have great middle eastern food unfortunately."

"I had high expectations after reading online reviews. I was sorely disappointed. The food was good - by no means great - but because I expected so much, I was disappointed. Had I gone in with lower expectations, I would have enjoyed the food more."

"A lot of options and good chicken kabobs are the only pluses to this place... crumbly, bland, and cold falafel, hummus that is WAY to garlicky, no ice in the vending machine, and the staff forcing you to order four items even if you only want three... Niko Nikos right across the street is a MUCH better choice"

"The price is right, the taste is not. I ordered meat and three sides. Chicken kabobs with rice, squash and hummus. Let's start with the pita, it's really sweet. I've never had sweet pita before and I can't say I'm a fan. The rice and vegetables tasted like pickle juice was all over them. The chicken was dry. This place has a lot of great reviews so it may ju..." Read more

"As several other people have noted, this may well be the loudest restaurant in the Houston area. The combination of loud voices with the sound of chairs being dragged across the concrete floor plus sounds coming from the serving area creates a cacophony that is overwhelming to the point that it is impossible to have a conversation, which is not an issue at t..."
