"This place is busy the clam chowder is really good even though we had to wait 90 minutes for a table. My yelp reservation got canceled so we had to wait for walk in which was 90 minutes. The lobster tails are pretty small the servings are pretty small, our service from waitress was so bad she bailed to go on lunch break. But other than that they have a n..." Read more

"Have been here a few times, typically with folks from out of town. This weekend, we were seated outside and then waited 28 minutes for our server to bring water and take our order... yikes.
Food's okay (what can you really expect on the pier though) and drinks were well made. Great view!"

"The restaurant located right on pier 39 so it is very convenient. The wait was a bit long last time we were here. The food was okay but a bit on the salty side."

"This place is made for tourists so don't expect the food quality to be super amazing. The view was pretty, and the food was enjoyable. I probably won't be coming back just because I believe that I can find better seafood for the same price point.
Service wise they were amazing, super friendly and enjoyable to speak too."

"If you want a great view of the bay, Alcatraz Island or the seals while you eat, then absolutely go here! You'll have outstanding service and adequate food. However, if you are truly looking for the best clam chowder or famous SF cioppino, I'd recommend googling another spot or asking a local. Our Experience:We started off the meal with a fresh h..." "I was so looking forward to eating at this place after reading all of the reviews, but my experience was just meh. I had the seafood platter and the shrimp and mussels were good, the crab dry, and the clams had a weird taste. The clam chowder was just average. I don't know, but I think east coast seafood is just so much better."

"Yes, I have been eating so many sourdough bread bowl clam chowders that it is oozing out of my ears.Expensive? Yes. You do get some sourdough bread with your meal, but it is so heavy that it has the potential to just order a salad. The clam chowder here is a bit sweeter than the ones I had before. The bacon inside is a nice touch, and the brea..." Read more

"I'm truly not sure how this place has 4.5 stars. The 3 stars I'm giving is quite generous. Got the garlic roasted crab, scallop risotto, choppino, clam chowder bread bowl, and chicken pesto pasta. Total $201! The crab was good in my opinion after I lathered it in the melted butter on the plate. My dad's complain is that it was salted which to him took away t..." Read more

"Came here on Mother's Day. I told the waitress that my mom and I were splitting an appetizer & entree to make room for dessert. Mind you, when I split meals, I always tip as if I ordered two entrees. I don't like to short change the waitress for my decision to split meals. The table next to has got so much attention - they got their drinks refill..." Read more

"Had an unexpected visit to Pier 39 with coworkers and we popped into Fog Harbor because they had a short wait for dinner. There wasn't anything tremendous about our experience but it was decently good and everyone enjoyed their food. My clams had a ton of sand in them which sucked. The fresh baked sourdough bread was so dang good and probably the most memora..." Read more

"Pretty mid tourist trap type placeThe food here is decent but overpriced, and the views (depending on where you are sitting) can be pretty nice.My main gripe about this place is that it seems like they really try to upsell you on everything. Our waiter, while engaging and friendly, almost seemed like he was paid by neighboring attractions to..." Read more

"My spouse picked this based on Yelp ratings. He is not a foodie nor the people who award this place more than 3 stars. Grand locaiton and mamouth seating with Red Lobster quality food with mostly local ingredients. The Clam Chowder, said to be the best, tasted of flour and tin. If you want location and crowds this is the place. If you're looking for Bay seaf..." Read more

"Came by for happy hour. The calamari was great & a nice portion, plus discounted for happy hour.Everything was great, except me paying $20 for a Cadillac margarita with house tequila! "Walking in, the manager working was very short and not kind. We sat at a good window table and the view was nice. Our server was awesome and very attentive. We started with appetizer shrimp. The sauce it came in was so good 10/10. I had the chowder with salad 7/10 and my boyfriend had the whole crab 6/10. The chowder was good but not the best..." Read more

"It was OK. Just OK. Inherently being located makes it a tourist stop. I'm confident there are better establishments a little further from the Wharf but when in SFO, do what tourist do. My party of 5 was sat outside. It was a pleasant day, we didn't mind. We all ordered a variety of drinks off the menu. There was almost too much staff because..." Read more

"To be honest, the food was decent but kind of mediocre. I had high hopes because of the higher than 4-star average on Yelp, but was a little disappointed. Our server took a long time to take our orders. He also just dropped off a water bottle for us to pour ourselves and never really greeted us at all. At some point he left for the night and a replacement se..." Read more

"If I could give it a 3.5, I would. The food was just okay and the service was okay. The waiter was very kind, but there was a lapse in service when he had to go on his break. "Fog Harbor Fish House is located at Pier 39, a super busy spot in the city. We decided to come here during Valentine's Day weekend and the area was packed. Although the service was great, their prices and the food did not match up. I think Fog Harbor was a bit too overpriced for the quality of food served and the decor. It's one of those restaurants..." "Let me start off and say that the staff was awesome and very attentive. However, food lacked flavor. The scallops didn't seem to be cooked all the way and still had dirt. The salmon and cod were just tasteless. The mash potatoes and oysters rocked."
