About Shutter Mart
Shuttermart — San Diego's Interior Shutter Specialist
Shuttermart is a long-established window treatment company based in San Diego, California, specializing in custom interior shutters for homes and offices. With over 70 years of experience in the industry, they position themselves as one of the San Diego area's most trusted shutter providers.
Products
Shuttermart offers three main shutter lines:
Polyclad Shutters — their flagship product, sometimes referred to as plantation shutters. These feature a rigid polyvinyl surface clad over hardwood, making them scratch-, dent-, fade-, and peel-resistant. They're paint-free, low-maintenance, and designed for long-term durability.
Vinyl Shutters — made with a patented Polynesian honeycombed material, these are especially suited for high-moisture areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
Basswood Shutters — individually crafted from kiln-dried, clear-milled hardwoods with precise specifications and hand-inspected for quality. These offer a traditional wood shutter aesthetic with fine detailing like beaded groove joinery.
They also offer door shutters for specialty applications.
Services
Shuttermart provides free in-home design consultations where a professional designer helps customers choose the right shutter style, material, and configuration. Customers can choose between DIY installation or professional installation, which can typically be completed in a single day. Most orders arrive within 6–8 weeks.
They currently run a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" promotion.

"Jamie was without a doubt exceptional. Who knew selecting shutters was going to have so many options. She showed up to our house on a Saturday and walked us thru all the options for our non-standard windows. The day of installation was equally as fabulous and the installer was quick efficient and professional. Thanks again Jamie and Shutter Mart, we are..." Read more

She helped us decide which shutters would work best for our home design, and personal style. We had shutters installed on all our windows and sliding glass doors throughout our home. "We deeply regret I trusted this company and the sales person. We discussed price and he verbally agreed. When he wrote up the paperwork he did it in three separate invoices. Unfortunately, my wife signed the paperwork without reviewing it closely because we trusted the salesperson. We made a large down payment and after most of the Shutters were installed we..." "This is a first class, five-star operation! Jamie, who is customer service oriented, is so knowledgeable about the product that she mentioned ideas we hadn't thought about. We were going to compete the job because we needed five sets of shutters and knew it would be costly. However, when we saw the bottom line cost for the plantation shutters, install, re..." Read more

"Initially my husband and I had a good feel for this company. The products appear well-made, the consultant Jon knowledgeable, the pricing competitive. However after we got the quote and were looking into financing things started to get weird. It's 2018 and the company wanted us to fill out a pdf form - with our social security numbers and annual income and..." Read more

"I saw the shutters at my Dad's and wanted them! My designer John was extremely detailed and even came back to re-measure with samples to ensure the shutters would properly fit my sliding glass door. It was a little too close and John recommended not placing them on those doors. His honesty made me trust him even more! I had added shutters to 4 windows an..." Read more

"Our wooden shutters are 18+ years old. We have had a couple of problems with the plastic swivels and I have just taken the shutter door to them and they always fix them while I wait free of charge. So I cant expect them to come out for free on decades old shutters. So I just take them there."
