"We came here for brunch since the place across the street had an hour and a half wait. We were seated right away and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious drinks and great food. My husband and I both had the eggs Benedict and we loved it. Would definitely recommend!!"

"We came in around 6:00pm and it didn't look that busy since we were able to snag a table for two. We each ordered a bottle of beer since we are not avid wine drinkers and it didn't seem like they had that many choices, which was fine.I ordered the bistro steak and thought it was cooked the way I like it (medium). My bf ordered the rabbit pasta and wa..." Read more

"I really enjoy this place. The food has been excellent each time, prices are very reasonable, and service is tremendous. It's a trifecta of success! I always leave feeling better than when I went in. There is a very disciplined menu that is executed perfectly, and a wine list that compliments all taste."

"It was hard to choose ... the menu had so many delicious choices. Our table had the eggs Benedict on home made biscuit and breakfast potatoes. There was a touch of cinnamon in the plate that was just delicious! My son said the fish and chips were the best he's ever had! Fresh squeezed oj for the mimosa and Bloody Mary that was perfect. You must go."

"What an amazing restaurant! I was blown away with the service and the food. The Lobster Eggs Benedict was the best I've ever had, and their Bloody Mary's were great too. We were looking for a place to eat and everywhere had a very long wait. We found this place off the beaten path, and we were so glad that we did. The restaurant was one of the cleanest..." Read more

"What a phenomenal 4 hour meal we had at ISA.  Yes, that's right, I said 4 hour meal.  A few of us went to celebrate a birthday on Saturday and the lucky birthday goer got a LONG celebration.  Four stars alone for not making us feel like a**holes for enjoying our time with each other.  They kept out water and coffee filled.  But, let's not forget to t..." "The neighborhood wasn't the best, but definitely worth the walk! We started off with the duck carnitas and it was phenomenal! It had a little spicy sauce that went so well with the tender shredded duck. We got the steak and the bolognese and both were amazing! We also got cocktails and those were delicious as well. The atmosphere in the restaurant was perfec..." Read more

"Well done, Isa. You have won the prize for Best Hidden-In-Plain-Sight Gem Of Portland's Brunch Scene (it's a new title, don't worry about it). More on this in a second...I had been to Isa before for dinner (they hadn't been open very long at that point). The food didn't wow me - it was, in my opinion, overly priced for underwhelming portions of just..." Read more

"Delightful neighborhood bistro that does everything right. If it was anywhere else, isa would probably be one of the hottest restaurants in town, but Portland is so restaurant-rich and isa is a bit off the beaten path that you might actually get a table here if everything downtown is busy. The food uses a variety of influences, but is fairly straightforwar..." Read more

"We don't dine out as much as we have in the past but we always hit Isa 3-4 times a year. My only issue with this restaurant is that their menus are so static in that for most part 75% of the offerings seem never to change. That -does- have the effect of disinclining us to return more often."

"We had a steak and it was fabulous. Only downside was that we had no reservation so we had to sit at the bar. Bartender, Joy, was able to juggle drink orders and at least 5 couples eating at the bar. Amazing."

"Had such a great time at Isa. We wanted to sit at the bar and even tho it wasn't busy, the bar was too crowded for 2 seats together, until right after we sat down. They offered to move us but we just took a table. Portland was pretty quiet this Sat. in Jan. (and it wasn't even cold) so walking in at 7:45 was fine, this time. We started with wine and a local..." "My wife and I celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary at Isa this evening. The menu is small but had at least 5 or 6 entrées that I would have loved, I ended up ordering the Salt Cod Fritters as an app that we shared, they were crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth creamy inside, the dill tartar sauce that accompanied brought out the flavor of the..." "Isa's Bistro might get overlooked in Portland's hot restaurant scene, but it's the perfect lunch place I can attest after at least six visits. (I haven't tried dinner there.) There is a relatively short menu of starters and main dishes, but each choice is delicious. The codfish appetizer is good, the warm lamb and foccaccia sandwich is superb, and most recen..." "With friends from foodie Durham, NC visiting Portland, where else to take them for lunch than Isa's Bistro? You can count on every plate to be delicious and the service is friendly as well as competent. They raved about the codfish cake starter and the octopus, then for their main dish chose the lobster tacos. My husband relished the meatball sandwich on foc..." Read more

"My boyfriend and I visited on a date last week. The restaurant was busy but worth the wait. Once we were acknowledged, as the bartender was on the move, it was smooth sailing from there. Not a bad seat in the room. The drinks were on point, food was amazingly flavorful and dessert was also a slam dunk! The atmosphere is pleasant and while the volume can esca..." Read more

"This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always wonderful, creatively imagined, and masterfully executed, all in a great atmosphere. "Isa is off the beaten track in Portland but within walking distance of Merrill Auditorium - which makes it a great option before OperaMaine or other events there! Menu is driven by local sources which give fresh and delicious choices. We loved the fresh green salad, haddock and homemade gnocchi in pesto sauce all of which were beautifully presented. We wante..." Read more

"I hesitate to gush about how wonderful this place is because I always want to find a seat at the bar but it isn't fair to withhold praise when it is so well deserved. The atmosphere, service, fellow patrons and cocktails would be alluring enough but the food is sumptuous. The cod fritters were smoky and creamy, crispy and light. Thank heaven there were o..."
