"I bought this to hold my HPA bottle for airsoft as well as carrying a bit of water for the games. So comfy with the padded base and can't feel the bottle in the back. With the chest and waist straps, the whole thing is solid mounted to my back and there's no bouncy when running. Such a good buy!"

"This freeze-dried rice tastes great and as expected is extremely light. It's very easy to dehydrate and would be great for camping or backpacking."

"For backpacking food this is really convenient. The package is lightweight and just needs boiling water. The rice dish is very bland though and while it has some freeze dried vegetables in the mix, it's lost all flavor. This tastes a nudge above basic white rice. The rice kernels are all mostly broken into little pieces with very few that are intact. I do..." Read more

"I do a lot of cooking and this is just add water. Suitable food when doing hike in/hike out backpacking trips. This product was easy and filling. I tried it on its own and it was ok. I added soy sauce packets and liked it much better. I ate this rice as a lunch on a heavy pack hiking day.Easy packaging to day hike outing.Would order again"

"Not much to say about this other than it is very simple to make. Just add boiling water. I really appreciate that there is a full line inside the bag so I can avoid needing a measuring cup when camping."

"Convenient yummy Japanese rice in just 15 minutes. To make, open the pouch, pour in boiling water, close the pouch, and wait 15 minutes. Really easy to make and great for camping or just keeping in the back of the cupboard for when I don't have any rice moment. The result is very good rice that can be used to accompany many different dishes."

"These packets of rice contain almost twice as many calories per 100g as the Uncle Ben's rice packets I take hiking, which is great. They also have a good flavor that goes well with other foods such as chicken, eggs, or fresh fish. The rice can be cooked in its pouch like other backpacking meals. I only waited 15 minutes before eating but that was long enough..." Read more

"I didn't know what to expect with these but I'm so glad I got them. Each package is very small, but don't let that fool you. You get plenty of rice with each pouch. I brought my water to a boil, filled it to the fill line, closed the package, and waited 23 minutes. I was stunned by how much I like this rice! I put it in a whole wheat tortilla with veggie mea..." "This makes a convenient and tasty side dish and can even be a main dish with the addition of some protein, like canned tuna or chicken. I added the water to the level that it says will make porridge, but it came out llike regular rice so no worries about accidentally overdoing. Is it like regular minute rice? In a way, I suppose, except this comes in a hikin..." Read more

"When this came in, we prepared a package and served it as a side dish with our evening meal. For a single serving, it was very generous, and one package was sufficient for both myself and my wife. The amount shown on the plate is about half the pouch. On the trail, it would work great as a meal for one, but it is heavy on carbs (81g) and light on protein (7..." Read more

"The Dehydrated Freeze-Dried Japanese Gomoku Mixed Rice is a source for carbohydrates as an accompanyment to other camp food entrees as a curry, stew, chili, gumbo, soup or even spam & eggs for breakfast. Each package is good for 2 servings. 5-9oz of boiling water will fully rehydrate the rice in ~15-20 minutes. To avoid making the rich mushy, I just shake..." Read more

"Wasn't sure what to expect, never had freeze dried food before, took these camping and they were super convenient and tasted pretty decent. Camping food can get tricky especially when you're out for a longer period or have enough other gear to worry about. This keeps things simple and makes for a decent meal with minimal effort"

"These rice packs are really easy to make and taste better than normal rice. I made these while camping for a 4 day music festival. I added some Costco canned chicken and Sriracha. It made it so filling and it tasted great. This is definitely going to be my go to rice when camping/ backpacking."

"I was surprised at how delicious and filling this little pouch of rice is! I do a lot of backpacking and eat a lot of dehydrated meals, so I was expecting the typical it's okay for what it is quality that you often get from dehydrated food. But this rice is genuinely delicious. It's described as mixed rice which refers to the fact that the rice is blended wit..." Read more

"My family has become fans of these. I can't say we used them backpacking - we used them for quick snacks on the healthier end of the spectrum. They're easy to prepare and taste good. It's not the quality of rice you'd get from a rice cooker, but it's way better than a pre-cooked rice bowl.Highly recommend!"

"These camping food are surprisingly tasty! After rehydrating them with water, I was surprised how great they taste. They are perfect for camping and as an emergency food supply during hurricane season. I live in an area where we're impacted by hurricanes and power outages a lot. These meals are great to have on hands for emergencies. A huge plus. Is these me..." Read more

"This is a pack of 5 camping meals.Basically you open the pouch, pour in some boiling water then close the pouch with the zip lock. After about 15 minutes of sitting the food is ready. The texture of the rce comes out very good. I don't think I could do much beetr preparing rice on a stove top.The problem here is taste, or should I say the lack of it. There re..." Read more
