"A hidden gem for sure! The storefront is so low-key that I would have never found my way in here if it weren't at the recommendation of a friend. Glad I did. On the menu, one of the best tuna melts I've had and, at a later visit, without a doubt the best meatloaf sandwich ever! A very cute spot that is small and modest, but at the same time a nice atmosphere..." Read more

"Delicious. Just damn, damn delicious. I followed these gals over here from their past life on Clinton/26th and I'm glad I did. Now that they're up and running with a full kitchen and small but full bar? Finally I can have my own neighborhood joint-- in my own neighborhood. I loved the Dots tuna melt so much that I wasn't sure I could bring myself to order on..." Read more

"What an absolute gem. The sisters who founded and operated Dots for 20 years have just opened a quaint new space in the fopo neighborhood. Family friendly with a full bar and 4 taps. They serve breakfast until 3pm. Lunch and dinner menu until close. I have been very pleased with everything I've eaten so far and the service is always warm and genuine. Kids..." Read more

"Always fantastic! Cozy, great folks, great food. A family favorite. It is a very simple menu. They are always playing some killer music too which never hurts. We go at least once, sometimes twice a weekend."

"This is a neighborhood treasure. It's owned by the gals who opened and ran DOTS until it shut its doors after being a S.E. Legendary staple in so many lives for almost 2 decades. The menu is my dream comfort food breakfast selection. There are plenty of grilled cheesy breakfast sandwiches as well as some signature cocktails ect. The place is really cozy and..." Read more

"This is a great neighborhood place to get brunch/lunch, never had a sandwich I didn't like! The Chateau is my current favorite and while we usually get to go orders which are promptly ready, the service is also amazing dining in. They are always happy to give substitutions and have vegetarian/vegan options as well and great coffee!"

"This is my new favorite breakfast place. It's not crowded (in fact, I wish it were more crowded because I want it to be successful and around a long time), the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, decor is fun and funky, the gals in charge are super nice, and most importantly, the food is excellent. I always get the breakfast quiche with hash brown casserole...." Read more

"Lily Day Cafe hits the right spot!! I love a good soup, salad and sandwich and Lily Day exceeds at all three. It's the cutest most comfortable place to have a great lunch and even a champagne cocktail. I also feel great supporting a women owned/run restaurant. These ladies really bring their creativity and style in full force. Lots of awesome vintage decor-I..." Read more

"This place is a gem! I love the kitschy decor, the vintage-style booths, and the plentiful parking out front. The food is amazing! Their menu is fairly limited, though, offering only sandwiches, pastries, and hard and soft drinks. I've been there twice--once for breakfast and once for lunch and was pleased with both things I ordered. I most recently had the..." Read more

"This cafe is tucked away in an unlikely plaza in SE, and is a little pocket of yum. We stopped in for breakfast on a weekday, and left very full and very happy. If you have a chance, stop in. Their egg sandwiches are huge and delicious. I do hope they expand their hours soon, because I see this place becoming a habit."

"So I was sad to see sweetness bakery close, however this feeling quickly went away after checking out the new menu at Lily day. Their breakfast sandwiches are incredible: Goat cheese caramelized onions, baked egg, served with yogurt dipping sauce= wow! Then I went back for lunch, and then I went back for lunch again. They offer 2 soups everyday, one veggie f..." Read more

"Seriously good eats, but even more than that, the atmosphere is that of a neighborhood diner. You can rub elbows with and get to know your neighbors. The sisters who run the place are lovely--they seem to love what they do--and they hire people like that, too. Full bar. Great beer. Lots of veggie and vegan options, too."
