"I was able to snag a reservation for an early Valentine's Day dinner and it was so good! It's definitely hard to grab a reservation so I suggest looking on OpenTable a couple months ahead of the time you want to go! We ordered the King Henry's cut and the English cut with creamed spinach and creamed corn with a baked potato as the sides. The beet salad is..." Read more

"We were on a Valentines weekend get away to San Francisco. We decided to eat dinner on our last night at The House of Prime Rib. The food was outstanding and the service was too. This was the best Prime Rib I've ever had. I had seen the restaurant on You Tube and it lived up to all our expectations. I highly recommend it . Make sure you make reservations..." Read more

"Sam is absolutely amazing ! It was Valentine's night and she was so attentive, informative and kind. She made our first time experience amazing and now we can't wait to come back. The prime rib is delicious, we had the thin slices, an order of salmon and creamed corn! Loved everything, the strawberry shortcake is light and perfect with expresso. It was my b..." Read more

"As classic as it gets. This place is iconic and very camp. You have to get a martini, they bring the whole shaker to the table. Controversial opinions, baked potato is better than the mashed and creamed corn is better t creamed spinach. Don't miss out on that strawberry shortcake either."

"A San Francisco staple! I finally got to try this place after finally getting a last minute cancellation. This place is booked out for small parties for months, so your best bet is to try to get a same day cancellation ressy. The service is amazing and all the sides are so flavorful. I like my meats medium rare and this filled all my protein cravings! They a..." Read more

"Food wise it's a classic in SF. Don't anticipate eating anything other than prime rib here. We were fortunate to get day of reservations because another group canceled. The ambiance has not changed since the restaurant opened. It's a throwback to a different era. Be careful not to fill up on bread and salad before the prime rib shows up."

"Went with family for dinner as we were craving for some good beef. The general vibes were great, it felt welcoming and everyone was greeting as with a smile. Ordered the Henry VIII (medium rare) with Creamed Spinach and Mashed potatoes. The rib was cooked perfectly temperature wise and it was so tender. The creamed spinach is a must if you are ordering accom..." Read more

"We got a reservation by watching for cancellations on OpenTable. The experience was pleasant. Lots of food. Expensive, but not out of line for this much food at a popular place in SF.They seem to have the whole system down really well. Simple menu, great execution with prep, waiters, packing food, etc.I was the only one of the four of..." Read more

"A Classic that still hits the mark. Went there recently for my parents' 60th anniversary and the food was excellent as always. Service was top-notch and it wasn't as expensive as we thought. I spend more at a mediocre place in Morgan Hill. Worth the wait and lots of old-school charm. A San Francisco gem!"

"A San Francisco institution not to be pissed! Probably the best prime rib you will ever have. Not only the is prime rib fantastic but the cocktails, the salad you get with your entree and the dessert! HOPR is not to be missed and I would recommend booking far in advance to avoid disappointment!"

"A San Francisco institution. The food is good if you like prime rib. Decadent sides with hearty portions of prime rib. I go for the English cut. For $60, you get a salad, 2 sides, a cut of prime rib, bread, Yorkshire pudding (basically bread), and an optional second thinner cut of prime rib. I find the prices very very very reasonable but it's probabl..." Read more

"House of Prime Rib in San Francisco is my ultimate go-to spot! I've been a loyal patron for 14 incredible years, visiting every two to three months. I bring everyone I know here. The prime rib, especially the house cut cooked to a perfect medium rare (every time) is nothing short of amazing. It's juicy, tender, and absolutely heavenly. From the solid, mouth..." Read more

"A wonderful place for special occasions and celebrations. You should come early to get a table if you can reserve one in advance. The average wait is 1.5 hours, so you have to come prepared to spend a few hours here. You will wait in a small cocktail lounge area, the cocktail waitress will take your drink orders while you are waiting for your table. The port..." Read more

My husband and I ordered the king Henry cut and it came out PERFECTLY. The service was a bit slow at first but I understand that they're busy.
