"I recently dined at the House of Prime Rib after eagerly waiting for three months or so for our reservation. Upon arrival, we were fortunate to find nearby street parking. Our reservation was at 5:30pm, and we were seated promptly upon check-in. However, I must admit that I was not pleased with our seat location against the wall. It was a booth-style arrange..." "Finally got to visit this fine San Francisco institution again after trying it for the first time so many years ago. Nothing has changed, the food and service is still top notch quality and worth the price tag. Tips worth noting:- MAKE RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE!!! "House of Prime Rib's reputation precedes itself and it definitely lives up to it! As with most SF restaurants, parking can be tough but they do have valet services available. We booked our reservation months in advance and so we didn't have to wait at all, highly recommend doing so!I ordered the House of Prime Rib cut with a side of creamed corn and..." Read more

"This restaurant is a staple in San Francisco. They only serve 2 options for the main dish prime rib with different cuts, and a choice of fish of the day. I opted for the kings cut and asked to have them sear the meat where it gives it more taste and texture. However, this is a little secret and you can only get the seared option upon request and only on..." Read more

"I waited 8 months for my reservation! Itwas worth the wait! This was my first time here and I am a Bay Area native. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation at 4pm on a  Monday and it was packed! We used the valet and we were seated right away. Wewere originally seated by the door, but it was too loud, so we asked to move tables. We were moved..." Read more

"Another delicious experience for Father's Day dinner! The food is amazing as always -- everything from the sourdough bread, salad, to prime rib and sides. One pro of coming on a holiday, they took a photo for our whole family and printed + framed it. It was a fun souvenir to take home. One con is that they rushed us at every step. I wasn't done wit..." Read more

"A visit to HOPR is worth the time and effort.

The bartenders are world-class, the ambiance is relaxing, and the food is to die for.

We recently visited for a birthday and for Father's Day and had a wonderful time. When you're at HOPR you are home. That's the level of care and friendliness from the staff."

"I finally got to try House of Prime Rib! I came on a Wednesday evening around 7pm for the reservation and the place was absolutely packed. The interior is quite old-fashioned mansion looking as other reviewers have said, and also extremely dimly lit. When I was sitting at the booth I could barely see the menu, and the booth itself was pretty cramped. Wouldn'..." Read more

"I've been to HOPR twice now, and it's made it to the list of must try places in SF for visiting friends and family. Why? The simplicity of the menu can't be beat. Chose the size of your prime rib and two sides et voila you're done! Not to mention the food itself is consistent and cooked to perfection. The ambiance is lively and amusing especially when they s..." Read more

"Did a walk in this time around. Came in around 6:30PM or so, and got quoted about a 2 hour wait. I ended up dropping my car off at HoPR and we went down the street Amelie Wine Bar to have some small bites and drinks. You can also put your name down for bar seating (physically need to walk up to the bar to put your name down)...but if it is your first..." "If you're a SF native and is not familiar with HOPR, then I hope you have a good reason to justify. Otherwise, I might just have to revoke your native San Franciscan status! "I've been to House of Prime Rib three times in the last few years and each time, the price has increased. I've gotten the King cut and House cut, I've been really lucky with the house cut where I got it with the bone (they don't usually come with the bone). The prime rib is amazing, super juicy and tender. I love how there's 3 different horseradish levels, I..." Read more

"We had a wonderful time at House of Prime Rib! Every SF local should be required to eat at House of Prime Rib at least once. It is an ABSOLUTE experience to say the least. "The menu is pretty easy you either get a thick, cut a small cut or thin slices and you have a bunch of sides.
