"Some of the most authentic pasta I've had in America, and honestly better than some of the places I've been in Italy. Took me straight to Tuscany with the simple, fresh, and flavorful ingredients. We'll be back to try more!"

"This is such a wonderful restaurant, inside and out. You can gawk from the sidewalk and watch the pasta being made right on the kitchen workbench. Thus far, my very favorite dish is the beet gnocchi. They look like little pink marshmallows and they taste like tangy, umami pasta paradise. Good specialty deli items for the discerning Italian (or any pe..." Read more

"This review is for Italian Homemade's dessert, which would make all of Italy's grandmas cry tears of disappointment. The tiramisu is largely a bowl of cream, airy cheap tasting cream (it should be a rich mascarpone). The lady fingers aren't adequately soaked in espresso so the whole thing lacks cohesion and flavor. The panna cotta was far too..." Read more

"I went here at lunch and I had feccuttine with bolognese and  tiramisu, my boyfriend had veggie ravioli with pesto and panna cotta. Bolognese was pretty flavored, and the portion is really big.Veggie ravioli was filled with ricotta and spinach, and it was really good!! Pesto was made with fresh basil, and you can tell it! At the end we had tirami..." Read more

"First time at the Berkeley location! I really like the vegetarian ravioli with marinara sauce. The staff was also very sweet and made sure we had a great experience! Would recommend."

"Don't come here on a busy night because the quality of food suffers and you will have to fight people for a table. I made the mistake of coming here on a Friday evening, so not only was the service poor, but the food as well... overcooked pasta, lasagna with a cold center, and bolognese that tasted watery."

"I like it here because it's straightforward, relatively affordable, and good quality. There are many options to customize your dish, so you can certainly find something suitable to your tastes. If you've been to Toss on Shattuck, it's essentially an Italian version of the same concept, but there are additional dishes here that make the menu more extensive. M..." Read more

"Obsessed!I love the firm texture of the gnocchi here, the consistency of the sauces, the beautiful handmade pastas (particularly the fettuccini) and occasionally the specials. The other day I had a ground sausage-porcini tagliatelle which was the special, which was so flavorful and comforting. I almost always also get a pesto gnocchi and think its SO..." Read more

"I ordered to-go and got the PAPPARDELLE with PASTICCIATA.I will say that it probably would have been better if I ate it there, but I picked it up then got caught in traffic on the way home.I was still nice and VERY HOT when I got home but the noodles were a little mushier than I would have like and they were all clumped together. Maybe it's b..." Read more

"Mangiare! I was familiar with the location in SF's North Beach, a place that served delicious Italian fare in a counter service style.  But I passed on dining there as I felt that serving the food on paper plates was a little too casual. Then I saw on a TV show that they had opened a branch on College Ave and that this location was larger and they served the..." Read more

"I feel like I might need to come back and try the pasta that everyone is raving about. I stopped in to get something to-go for lunch and ordered the veggie cassone, which is sort of a flatbread calzone. It was warm and served with a side of sauce. It was a little difficult to eat though since the crimped part of the crust was extremely hard, kind of like a t..." Read more

"This is one of my go to spots for simple, great tasting Italian food! I first discovered them in San Francisco in the North Beach location, and was thrilled to see them move close to home here in Rockridge. This is a great, non-pretentious gem, that serves homemade pasta, boiling and prepared right in front of you as you order. I always opt for the f..." Read more

"Great flavor, short wait time, fun atmosphere. portion sizes are a little inconsistent but we loved the atmosphere and the flavor was great! My vegetarian option was super good, but came with a way smaller portion than my boyfriend's pasta dish. Either way, I'd definitely visit again."

"Down-to-earth, satisfying pasta. Not since Basta Pasta (Cambridge, MA) have I run into hearty, hand-made pasta with minimal pretension.  Pasta options are rather simple - select one of the generally flat noodles (fettucine, tagliatelle, paparadelle)  as well as a sauce treatment including butter+sage (free?) to bolognese with or without meatballs, etc..." "I would give 0 stars if I could, where do I even begin, such a bad experience here. My family and I went here tonight on a Monday and we were all excited about trying this place after seeing all the good reviews, but to our dissapointment, it was far from what we expected. When we first arrived, we were very confused as to where the line was. At one side of..." Read more

"Okay, I LOVE this place. The restaurant itself isn't fancy. It almost reminds me of a cafeteria. I've been here a few times. The first time I ordered the Vegetarian Piadina, which was AMAZING! I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much. I never had a Piadina, and it seemed light enough for lunch, since I was planning on going to a food festival for dinner. It w..." Read more

"Came here on a Saturday night looking to satisfy a craving for fresh pasta! When you walk in there is a very simple menu on the wall, and a line to the one register. Seating is first come first served, but there are signs everywhere saying that you must order before you take a seat.. At first I was concerned I wouldn't have time to get a seat before..." "Simple concept. Choose your pasta and sauce and that's it. They also have flat bread, salad, and a few specials.  Nothing fancy, just good hearty food. The pasta is made fresh onsite as are the sauces. The bolognese sauce with meatballs was very good. Lots of meaty flavor and not too runny. Very hearty. The lasagna was spot on with the flavor..."
