"I've been going to their SF locations for a while now. I am so glad the opened one in Berkeley now. It is without a doubt one of the best Italian restaurants. Everything tastes fresh and home made. Highly recommend their Tiramisu and everything on their Menu.
Welcome to Berkeley"

"I really liked this new place. You order at a counter before, so it's nice to come with a group so you don't have to split the bill so many ways. I had gnocchi with pesto and it was great. Only thing is that I would like the sauce to have a bit more salt. But they provided some salt so it was not a problem. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere"

"The worst example of a $13. sandwich I've ever had. Just plain ground sausage, no seasoning or sause and tasteless flat bread. It left a fatty aftertaste. I can't put into words how bad this was. Do not order one of these sandwiches. We sampled the gelato and it was excellent but that was not what we were there for.At the College Ave. location, Berkel..." Read more

"Ordered the sandwich----THE WORST LUNCH OF MY LIFE----needed a magnifying glass for the amount of tasteless (only taste that stays with you is fat)sausage and flat bread that is a disgrace to the name."

"Loving this new Italian restaurant! After waiting to see what this place was changing into I finally stopped over. At first I was like what is this a grocery store or a deli. Nope it's an actual Italian restaurant your boy is happy. It's getting harder and harder to find good Italian food in the bay. I'm glad I found this place fresh pasta and awesome Bologn..." Read more

"Although I never had a chance to try the SF locations of The Italian Homemade Company, they were always on my radar and I always intended on making it out one day. The idea of authentic freshly made pasta in a casual neighborhood setting sounded very appealing. When I moved from SF to the East Bay a few months ago, I thought my chances of trying it out had f..." Read more

"I don't understand the hype here! Yes they make the pasta fresh but that doesn't transfer to your plate. What they serve is either frozen or made days before. We got gnocchi and it was frozen in the middle but the sauce on top was hot which made me believe things are not as fresh as they look. The sauce seriously lacks flavor. The portion is small fo..." "I ordered cacio e Pepe pasta & it was the most disgusting pasta! I mean, Olive Garden would probably have better pasta! I also ordered tiramisu with the pasta & they gave me the smallest piece ever which did not taste good at all & it tasted old & it was soggy! Never buying from this place again! Save your money folks. I've had lots of real a..." Read more

"It was a really hot, blistery day in Berkeley today and the fiancé and I decided to check this place out after having had it in North Beach. A sign that the small things really make a huge difference: they had the cutest mason jars all lined up for you to pour ice cold water in to drink. A lot of restaurants offer lukewarm water and for them to have this on..." Read more

"Soooooo good! Some of the best homemade Italian food from a restaurant I've ever had. They make the pasta in the window which is really cool. The pasta dishes are so yummy and so are the salads. We also tried the gelato which was great. They also have groceries and Italian snacks to shop. Fast service and friendly atmosphere."

"Excellent!!! It is as the name says Homemade Italian. The Italian owner took our order, his recommendation of lasagne bolognese and veg ravioli marinara was excellent. Food is only $12 each dish for twice as much as anywhere else AND the best Italian I've had in California. Oh and the ambience is really cool. Bravo to the owners."

"I'm giving them five stars just for that wonderful Pappardelle with Bolognese Sauce and Meatballs that my sweet husband was kind enough to share with me when we had dinner here. I had the Gnocchi (nice and pillowy and light) with Pesto which was definitely 4 Stars, but the dish envy was pretty strong once I tasted my husband's dish. He's usually the one cove..." Read more

"Great local, fresh Italian place that you can get freshly made pasta, piadina (Italian flatbread sandwich), gelato and more! They actually make their pasta in the store!! The food was just simple, yet so flavorful. I tried the classica piadina and fettuccine + salsa palmigiano pasta, both of which were made with only few ingredients, but tasted amazi..." Read more

"I've been here four times (if you count the first visit to get free gelato during their soft open on New Year's Eve) and have no complaints. Two dinners and one lunch. Among four of us during the visits, one salad with a huge piece of burrata, a piadina, a cassone, and, three pastas. All were delicious. Just about everything is homemade, the portions are..." "I'm not a pasta person because I generally think it's a waste to eat such plain carbs, so I don't really crave it. But this place has such a following and also has a really nice hippie environment that I had to check it out! Seeing the guy making pasta actually made pasta seem appetizing to me for the first time in a while! The staff was friendly too!..." Read more

"The reviews for this place set the bar too high. People raved about super flavorful sauce and today's bolognese/marinara did not deliver. It was very flat and barely tasted of tomato. There were some large, not separated balls of meat crumbles as well. I expected at least some acidity, flavor, and definitely more sauce as well- there was just barely enough t..." Read more

"My family and I ran into this cute establishment while on the way to another place. Once we looked at the menu we realized this was the place we should try. "This place made me almost cry because the food was so good. I came here around 8pm on a Friday night and the place was packed and the line was long. They don't really have an organized way of getting seating yet, so it was basically every man for themselves. "My boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner a couple of weeks ago, and were delighted with the food, the service, and the space. The homemade pasta was really, really good-- comparable quality to much nicer and pricier pasta restaurants we've been to, but at around $15 a bowl, far more affordable. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table...." Read more

"Don't be fooled. There is something wrong about this place. First of all it smells a bit of vomit, but that's not that big of a deal. The food is all covered with meat sauce, which normally would be fantastic, but I'll just say that over here, it's not. Honestly, they can't even get the pasta right. Sorry, but 2 stars."

"Great spot, staff was friendly and helpful. The menu isn't overwhelming but has just enough of a nice selection to choose from. The prices aren't bad at all. Everything is homemade which is nice. "Pass on this one.... This ain't the one! The price for the portions are not worth it. (Except the lasagna which was pretty large) I saw the photos of the pesto dishes and rolled the dice...
