"Their specialty is called "Muqueca" and its a clay pot with seafood in a broth. You can get it with plantain or tofu."

"This is truly one of the gems of East Cambridge. Full of flavor and character, Muqueca provides a great, albeit a bit noisy when the blender is going, dining experience. It is a bit pricey, but there's enough to share for two or for tomorrow's lunch."

"Muqueca was full of hits and misses for me. The flavors were excellent. I had the mariscada which they label as a must try. It lives up to the hype, spiced well, and thickened/sweetened a bit with coconut milk. It was loaded with good seafood, including shrimp and crab meat. The shrimp were huge and juicy, cooked perfectly. The dish also featured musse..." Read more

"The food was really good. The beer list is rather small, but my girlfriend said the Sangria was pretty good. The food was absolutely fantastic however. Definitely check it out if you're feeling Latin American/Brazillian food."

"The best Brazilian food in Boston area...crave-worthy! The muqueca completa (like bouillabaisse) and feijoada (black bean soup) are always superb - great drinks. The staff is so friendly and always attentive. It's like stepping into Brazil into a typical intimate setting."

"Supported my gluten, dairy and soy allergies, no problem. Definitely a place I'd return. Its pretty small, so I have been up close and personal with conversations I'd rather have not heard... its character."

"Not very happy with either the food or service here. We got the crab muqueca and the fish. The grumpy waitress brought the complete muqueca instead, which we had to send back. The crab was stringy, bland, and fishy, an unappetizing mush. I could only eat a few spoonfuls of it, trying to mask the taste with bread. The fish was edible, but still stale tasting..." Read more

"Loved this place!! I came on a weekday afternoon and really enjoyed taking my time savoring this meal. I started off with a caipirinha and it was perfection. I had the fish moqueca and the shrimp bobo. The flavor of these dishes were simply amazing. I would definitely like to come back and try the fries yucca and feijoada. My only gripe is that when you orde..." Read more

"The caipirinhas are good, yet everything was lacking the flavor I desired/expected from the menu and presentation. Not bad at all, don't get me wrong. "A-OK". The Picanha however was def sub par. 3.5 stars"

"Of all of the places I have tried muqueca, this is the best by far. They also have great drinks, appetizers, and desserts. The service is always prompt and friendly. Parking is a little challenging at times, but there is a decent number of spots on a side street."

"The service was great and so was the juice. My steak was a tad stringy and overcooked, but the seasoning and presentation was very well done."

"I was so disappointed. I love Brazilian food and this was a strong miss. The food tasted like corn starch. I suspect the real reviews are hidden. Sorry."

"Great food. Big servings. Yummy drinks at reasonable prices (caipirinha). We had a fish and shrimp moqueca (Bahia style - added coconut milk) that was really good and enough to share. Coconut shrimp appetizer had nice breading and tasty dipping sauce. Also had the feijoda, which has really tender pork and great fried sweet plantains."

"This place is ridiculously good. Is been three days since I ate there and I am still craving the taste of their Picanha. It is an unbelievably savory piece of red meat served with rice fries and black beans. If you like the spicy stuff you can put some of their house hot sauce on it which is just as delicious. I'm not big into seafood but my mother, cousin a..." Read more

"The first time I went to the restaurant was okay, but my second experience was not quite well. I asked for a Fried Red Snapper, that was priced in the menu as "marked price". It took me more than 45 minutes to get my plate. The fish was very bad. It smelt terrible and I could not eat it because of the strong flavor. With appetizer, two people's bill was $65,..." Read more

"Muqueca is located on the strip of Cambridge St., where I was told, lots of hip restaurants to eat. Muqueca is also well known by many MIT and Harvard students as the place to order their authentic traditional caipirinha (Brazilian hillbilly drink). I suggest ordering their side of plantains. Their Feijoada ComPleta is a Brazilian National Dish and really g..." Read more

"Everything I have tried here has been fantastic. From the Shrimp Bobo, to the Moqueca, you can't miss. Also, the juices are wonderful and pair well with the clay pot dishes. Don't forget to add a little of the home made hot sauce (in moderation!)"

"Can't say enough about how good this place is. We've lived in the area for a while and have walked by it remarking to ourselves, "This place looks interesting", but never had the motivation to walk in. Well, tonight we decided to give it a try. Dude.. it was outrageously good. We had the moqueca, a plate of veggies, and flan for dessert. All amazing. F..." Read more

"Tiny little place that none of the locals seem to know about. If there's large parties the servers can be a little overwhelmed. Just be patient. Everything we tried here was good. Had the traditional caipirinha aka Brazilian hillbilly drink. Most of the dishes come with sides such as rice and plantains. Had a beef dish and shrimp and fish dish. Both v..." Read more

Must try the fried yucca, muquecas, coconut shrimp, mariscada, fried frog legs if that is your thing. Desserts are also incredible but huge."
